Settled cozily in the middle of a greenery paddy field of Sekinchan lies the Padi Box Homestay, a colorful container hotel that offers a panoramic view the rice plantation. Sekinchan is a small town in Sabak Bernam which is not known to many, but recently it goes viral among locals when a Hong Kong TV Drama “Outbound Love” had some scenes in one of the Famous Tree House in Pantai Redang. Sekinchan being overlooked as one of the tourist destinations in Selangor, I decided to hit the road and see what Sekinchan has to offer.
Paddy Box Homestay is on top of my list to stay due to its cool container concept. I stayed in a 2 pax room with Private Balcony overlooking the picturesque paddy. It’s a classy, chic and lovely pink container room that looks like a room of a princess. Complete with in-room facilities such as TV, AC, WIFI, LAN Internet, and Bathroom with toiletries. I loved that the room has its own sliding glass door with the relaxing view of the rice field.
The dining area is full of vintage decors with a touch of modern simplicity. During my stay, they provide breakfast such as sandwiches or Nasi Lemak of your choice. There is also an alfresco luncheon where you can have your meal or coffee with the most therapeutic and scenic paddy view.
Aside from having tea or coffee early in the morning, Biking is one of the best things to do around the paddy field to get the most of your visit. Padi Box Homestay offers biking rentals at a very affordable rate. I suggest doing this during sunrise and sunset to enjoy without beating the scorching sun.
Just a stone’s throw away from the Hotel is an actual bus that turned into a romantic restaurant with the best view of the field as well. The food they served is insanely delicious! PadiBox Homestay is also nearby to famous attractions such as Pantai Redang, Fishing Village, Seafood Restaurants, Paddy Processing factory, Paddy Museum, Sekinchan Wishing Tree (Oh I love this one!), and Sekinchan Tree House.
Padi Box Homestay is definitely the best choice to stay when in Sekinchan. Surprisingly, it exceeded my expectation – Nicely decorated, breathtaking views of the Paddy field that will make you re-charge and it is well suited for a perfect weekend getaway from the hustle bustle of KL.
